What is multimedia

Multimedia

Multimedia is a media that uses multiples form of information processing (text, images, graphics, sound, animations and video interactivity) to inform entertain the audience. multimedia also refers of the uses of electronic media. Multimedia means that computer information that can be represented through text, graphics, images, sound and video etc.

Multimedia is classified into two types

(A). linear

Linear active contents offers user interactivity without any natirgation******** control for the viewer such as a cinema.

(B). Non-linear:

Non-linear contents offers user interactivity as used with a computer game or used in self based computer training.

A multimedia computer can do the following:

a)    Produce large amount of textual information.
b)    Recreate the sound of musical instruments.
c)     Playback record sounds.
d)    Show pictures and movies on the monitor.
e)    Access information stored on CD or DVD disk

CD:

CD stands for compact disk. Its capacity is 700MB.

DVD:

DVD stands for digital versatile disk. Its capacity is 4.7 GB (4812MB)

Nero:

Nero is a software program, which allows us to transfer any information from hard disk to CD or DVD. It provide us process for writing and burning any data or file into CD or DVD using different categories. When we transfer any information or file into CD or DVD then it is called the burning or writing process.

How to use multimedia

1. To open windows media player

Start > all program > windows media player.

Start > run > wmplayer.

2. To play any song

File open > select any one song > open.

Internet is a worldwide network of networks. It can be defined as the global network of over a million of smaller heterogeneous computer network. Internet is the common language whereby dissimilar computer with various operating system are able to communicate with each other using a standard set protocols.
