Welcome to adobe Photoshop 7.0 the professional image – editing standard with its integrated web tool application, adobe image ready, Photoshop delivers a comprehensive environment for professional designers and graphics producers to create sophistication image for print, the web wireless devices, and other media.

1.  To open Photoshop

Start > all programs > Adobe Photoshop 7.0

Start > run > Photoshop.

2.  To open the picture file

File > open > select any one picture – open

Or, double click on the page.


👊Marquee tool (M):

The Marquee tool let you select rectangles, ellipses, rounded rectangle (image ready), and 1pixel rows and column by default, a selection boarder is dragged from its corner.


👊Move tool (V):

The move tools lets you drag a selection or layer to a new location in the image with the into palette open, you can track the exact distance of the move; you can also use the move tool to align selections and layers and distribute layers within an image.


👊Lasso tool (L):

The lasso and polygonal lasso tools lets you draw booth straight edged and freehand with the magnetic lasso (Photoshop) the boarder shape to the edges of defined area in the image.            

👊Magic wand Tool (W):

The magic tool lets you select a consistently colored area (for example a red flower) without having to trace its outline. You specify the color range, or tolerance, for the magic wand tools selection.

3. To zoom the picture.

Ctrl + Plus

4. To zoom out the picture.

Ctrl + minus

5. To create a new file.

File > new select the paper size mode and content > ok

6. To deselect the picture layer.

Select > deselect

7. To delete the picture layer.

Select the picture layer > delete Layer.

8. To rotate canvas.

Image > rotate canvas > set any one option.

9. To show or hide the layer.

Window > layer


👊Hand tool (H):

If the entire image is not visible in the document Window you can navigate to bring another area of the image in to view. In Photoshop, you can also use the navigation palate to quickly change the view of an image.

 (Press space button and drag the mouse)

10. To step backward (undo).

Edit > step backward (alt + ctrl + Z)

11. To step forward (redo).

Edit > step forward (Shift + Ctrl + Z) 

12.  To crop the picture layer.

Alt + Click + drag


👊Crop tool (C):

Cropping is the process of removing portion of an image to create focus or strengthen the composition. You can crop an image using the crop tool and the crop command. You can also trim pixels using the trim command.

13. To apply stroke in the picture.

Edit > stroke > set the color and width > ok.

14. To merge down the picture layer.

Select > more than one picture layers > layers > merge down (ctrl + E)


👊Healing Brush Tool (J):

The healing brush tool lets you correct imperfection, causing them to disappear into the surrounding image like the cloning tools, you use the healing brush tool to paint with sampled pixels from an image or pattern. However, the healing brush tool also matches the textures, lighting, and shading of the sampled pixels to the source pixels. As a result, the repaired pixels blend seamlessly in to the rest of the image.


👊Path Tool (J):

The patch tool lets you repair a selected area with pixels from another area or a pattern like the healing brush tool. The path tool matches the textures, lighting and shading of the sampled pixels to the source pixel. You can also use the patch tool to clone isolated area of an image.


👊Brush Tool (B):

Photoshop provides the brush tool and the pencil tool to let you paint with the current foreground color by default, the brush tool creates soft strokes of color and the pencil tool creates hard-edged, freehand lines. However you can change these default characteristics by resetting the tool’s brush option. You can also use the brush tool as an airbrush to apply sprays of color to an image.


👊Clone Stamp Tool (S):

The clone stamp tool takes a sample of image, which you can then apply over another image or part of the same image. Each strokes of the tool paints on more of the sample.


👊History Brush Tool (Y):

The history brush tool lets you paint a copy of one state or snapshot of an image into the current image window. This tool make a copy, or sample of the image and then paints with it.

15.   To apply foreground or background color

First of all set the foreground or background color from tool box > edit fill > set foreground or background > ok.

Foreground color – Alt + Delete

Background color- Ctrl + Delete

16.  To apply image size

Image > image size > set the size > ok.


👊Eraser Tool (E):

The eraser tool changes pixels in the image as you draw through them. It you are working in the background or in a layer with transparency locked, the pixels changes to the background color; otherwise, the pixels are erased to transparency.


👊Gradient Tool (G):

The gradient tool creates a gradual blend between multiple colors. You can choose from present gradient fill or create your own.


👊Focus Tool (R):

The focus tools consist of blur tool. The blur tool softens hard edges or areas in an image to reduce detail. The sharpen tool focused soft edge to increase clarity or focus.


👊Toning Tool (O):

The toning tool consist of the dodge tool and the burn tool used to lighten or darken areas of the image, the dodge and burn tools are based on a traditional photographer’s technique for regulating exposure on specific area of a print. Photographers hold back light to lighten an area of the print (dodging) or increase the exposure to darken areas on a print (burning). 


👊Slice Tool (K):

A slice is a rectangle area of an image that you can use to create links, rollovers and animations in the resulting web page. dividing an image in to slice lets you selective optimize it for web viewing.

17. To apply feather.
Select the picture > select feather > set the feather radius > ok > move the picture into another picture.

18. To apply style in text layer.
Select the text layer > window > styles > select any one style.

19. To apply stroke(outline) in text layer.
Select the text layer > layer > layer style > stroke > set the color and size > ok.

20. To apply shadow in text layer.
Select the text layer > layer > layer > style > drop shadow.

21. To keep the picture in text layer.
First of all type the text > move the picture over the text layer.

22. To arrange the layer.
Select the layer > layer > arrange > bring to front > layer > group with previous.

23. To select two or more layer.
Ctrl + Shift + right click on the layer > select the layer.

24. To ungroup the layer.
Layer ungroup (shift + ctrl + G)

25. To apply layer style in text layer.
Select the text layer > layer > layer style > set the required options > ok.

26. To create passport size image.
 First of all open the picture and crop the picture > image > image size > Resolution =300, width= 400 >file > new select paper size = A4 > ok > move the picture in to the new page using move tool.

27. To apply stroke in the picture layer.
Select the picture layer > edit > stroke > set the color and width > ok

28. To create action.
Window > actions > create new actions > type the action name (any name) > set the function key > record > copy the picture using Alt button > stop playing or recorded > stop.

29. To apply color adjustment.
Image > adjustment > color adjustment.

30. To change the picture mode.
Image > mode select the required option.

31. To apply filter.
Filter > select the required filter.

32. To apply magic pro filter.
Press B and then Q > color the picture area > press Q > select inverse > filter > magic > magic pro > set the graininess > go.

33. To save the picture file into PDF.
File > save as > set the location > type the file name, format > photoshop pdf > save > ok.

34.
