What is Notepad


       Notepad is a default text editor program of window operating system. It allows us typing and editing of text. It is use to create simple notes. It is a text editor program. Text can only typed and cannot be formatted. The extension of notepad file is .txt

 (how to use Notepad)

1.  To open Notepad program.

> Start > all programs > accessories > Notepad.

>start > run Notepad > ok
 
2. To save the notepad file.
File menu > save > set the location > type the file name > save

3. To close the Notepad program.

File > exit.

4. To open your saved file.

File > open > select your file > ok

 5. To save the file with other name.

File > save as type file name > save.

 6. To insert new file.

File > new (ctrl+ N).

7. To setup the page.

File > page setup > set the paper size, orientation and margins.

 8. To print the file.

File > print(ctrl+p) > select the printer name > print.

 9. To cut or copy the text.

select the text > edit > copy(ctrl+c) > or cut(ctrl+x).

 10. To past the cut or copied text.

Put the Cursor at required place > edit paste(trl+v).

11. To delete the text.

select the text > delete.
 
 12. To undo your last action.
Edit > undo (ctrl+z)

13. To find the particular text.

Put the cursor at beginning of the page > edit > find (ctrl+f) > find what > type the text which you  want to find > find next.   

 14. To replace the particular text.

Put the cursor at the beginning of the page > edit > Replace > find what > old text > replace with > new text.

15. To select all the text.

Edit > select all(ctrl+A).
 
 16. To insert date &time.
put the cursor at the required place > edit date & time.

17. To apply word wrap.

format > word wrap.

18. To apply font face and size.

Edit font > set the font face and size.
 
19. To print the file.
file > print > set the printer name > print.
